The Civic Journey programme builds understanding of the ways in which young people are and become active citizens. It’s a two-year, youth-led programme, inspiring sustained engagement in social action, community activism and the democratic participation of young people across the UK.

Funding is now available to support a number of short social action projects or prototypes that suggest how to tackle existing gaps in support, reimagine young people’s civic transitions as they grow up, and have national significance. This interactive session is your opportunity to share ideas that could be funded through this project, receive feedback and support to apply.

This funding call is open to all those who have engaged in the Civic Journey project so far, and we are able to support a range of prototypes and projects, with grants ranging from £500 to £15,000.

Existing evidence, and our emerging findings, have identified gaps in understanding. We now seek to support a number of short social action projects or prototypes that suggest how to tackle these gaps, reimagine young people’s civic transitions from childhood to adulthood, and have national significance.

At this event, you will be able to:

  • Explore key learnings from the project and discuss where gaps and social action or innovation opportunities are visible
  • Share initial thinking about an idea you want to make a reality in a supportive, collaborative environment
  • Gain feedback to evolve your idea, and explore opportunities for collaboration
  • Meet stakeholders with an active interest in advancing the Civic Journey for young people
