Director, The New Citizen Project

Jon wrote ‘Citizens: Why the key to fixing everything is all of us’. He is director and co-founder of the New Citizenship Project, an innovation company, generating and delivering creative projects which promote the role of the citizen, inspiring and encouraging participation in society. His ultimate goal is to replace the ‘consumer’ with the ‘citizen’ as the main role of the individual in society, a step he believes leads people to participate, volunteer and come together to make society stronger and more effective.

Jon spent his first working decade in brand strategy, both in some of London’s top agencies and also directly for Sainsbury’s and the National Trust, all the time seeking to apply creative skills for positive and environmental ends. Somewhere along the way, he gathered three Masters degrees and has represented Great Britain in two sports.
