Senior Researcher
Prior to joining The Young Foundation in June 2021, Salma led SEN provisions in a number of inner-town schools, specialising in supporting disaffected learners and families, and those with special educational needs. Her role involved ensuring all learners, regardless of their needs and background, felt safe and happy at school, and were able to access all aspects of the curriculum.
As well as this, Salma is a social entrepreneur. She has a profit-for-purpose business, selling artisan vegan granola and using the profits to hold fortnightly women’s wellness walks in her local community. She was a finalist in the Muslim Women Awards’ Entrepreneur of the Year 2021.
In her free time, Salma enjoys the outdoors, photography, and good food.
