12 April 2023 - 14 April 2023, 1:00pm - 8:00pm

As the UK gears up to host Eurovision on behalf of Ukraine, we’re working with Spirit of 2012 in a project exploring how this world-famous song contest brings communities together through music.

Local residents and organisations based in and around the borough of Tower Hamlets are invited to share songs that are meaningful and representative of their diverse backgrounds and experiences, and to help shape a free, grand finale music event.

Do you live in the local area? Are you involved in a local music group or choir? Is music central to your family life, community, or identity? Or are you just curious to find out more about this project?

We’re running two, free Open House events at Toynbee Hall, 28 Commercial St, London E1 6LS

  • Wednesday 12 April, 5-8pm
  • Friday 14 April, 1-4pm

You don’t need any musical skills to get involved: we’d just love to gain your perspective and hear songs that matter to you.

Staff from The Young Foundation will be on hand to answer any questions (including how to get involved in some of our paid opportunities), and there will be a chance to meet others over light refreshments and creative activities.

Drop in and join us at these free events. No need to book.

And please put our free, grand finale music event in your diary! Join us at Toynbee Hall on 10 May.
