This report presents an up to date picture of gender inequality in the UK, and explores how gender equality and social innovation actors can come together to create a positive, gender equal future for men and women.
We looked at research on the key dimensions of gender inequality in the UK in terms of resources, attitudes and power, finding ongoing and entrenched inequalities. Looking across these different areas we can see how they are interconnected – and need an interconnected response to make positive change.
We also looked at the practice and theory of social innovation finding that social ventures, as well as funders and intermediary bodies, aren’t fully engaging with or addressing gender inequality as something central to creating sustainable change.
We provide recommendations for action going forward that can bring together these two important and rich areas of work.
