Community Land Trusts – or CLTs – give ordinary people the means to look after land for local wellbeing, and to develop and manage homes and other assets important to their local community. We are working with the Community Land Trust Network to train and support CLT members and volunteers to undertake peer research on the issue of diversity and inclusion in the movement.

Some groups – particularly young adults, people from minority ethnic backgrounds, and those who identify as coming from lower-income families – are under-represented within CLTs. This research will explore the barriers to greater diversity and inclusion in the CLT movement and suggest ways to overcome them. The research will run from January to March 2022.
