Our comprehensive, interactive training curriculum can be delivered virtually or in-person.
We develop the skills, knowledge and confidence of peer researchers, and staff working with them. We have a comprehensive, interactive and immersive curriculum for peer researchers and ‘trainers’.
Our courses are unique in that they have been co-designed and tested with peer researchers, including young people, and people with English as a second language. We also have specialist sessions, which cover topics such as working in a trauma-informed way, evaluating the impact of peer research, and using specialist digital tools to support remote, Covid-secure peer research.
Bespoke peer researcher training
We work with you to design a bespoke delivery of our training programme for peer researchers, tailored to your needs. For example, we can train researchers on specific methods, or deep-dive on how to conduct trauma-informed research on sensitive topics. You can then choose whether to guide and manage the peer researchers to co-design and conduct the research yourself, or to use our project consultancy services for our ongoing support. Training can be delivered in-person or virtually, at a schedule to suit you.All training opportunities
'Open' peer researcher training
Run two or three times a year, these courses enable individuals and small groups to join a training session with peer researchers from other organisations. Participants complete our core training, while networking and sharing skills with people from other backgrounds and regions. Working in small break-out groups enables peer researchers from the same organisation to put their learning into practice in their own specific context. These courses are ideal for organisations with only a small number of peer researchers, and those with limited budget, as by sharing the costs of training we can keep individual fees lower.Book here
In-house 'train the trainer' courses
Is your organisation looking to establish a longer-term programme of peer research? Are you a practitioner or academic looking to work with peer research for the first time? If so, our ‘Train the trainer’ courses are for you. We offer high-quality, interactive and immersive courses that will build your knowledge, skills and confidence in training peer researchers. These can be tailored to your needs – for example, to cover issues in greater depth, from specific methods, ethics, or trauma-informed working, to adapting peer research for remote and digital working.Get in touch
