Southampton City Council Public Health team has commissioned Southampton Voluntary Services (SVS) and The Young Foundation to coordinate, oversee and support a programme of community participatory action research.

The research will be exploring issues around Covid-19, so collective action can be taken based on the findings. For example, topics might include how to tackle vaccine hesitancy amongst younger people, or how best to communicate messages about Covid-19 to people who are not fluent English speakers.

Southampton Voluntary Services is currently accepting Expressions of interest from local community groups who would like to recruit and support peer researchers. Funding will be available to organisations to recruit and support the peer researchers, including paying the peer researchers a living wage for their time. No research experience is needed by either organisations or peer researchers. You can find more information in the attached briefing. Interested organisations should complete the Expression of interest invite and return it to SVS by 25 January.

If you are a Southampton resident interested in becoming a peer researcher, please email us at peerresearch@youngfoundation.org, clearly stating the name of this project, and we will let you know when applications open.
